Banco Dominicano del Progreso

The Banco Dominicano del Progreso is one of the pioneer institutions in the multiple services banking of the Dominican Republic. With 40 years of experience, the entity has evolved continuously, becoming a dynamic bank that has stood out for its strategic alliance with the prestigious American Express brand.

It was founded in 1974 by a group of businessmen under the name of Banco de Boston Dominicano, S. A .; fifial of the First National Bank of Boston. In 1981, Dominican investors obtained full participation in the shares of The First National of Boston. This is how the Banco Dominicano del Progreso emerged in 1984, a name that was adopted to represent the achievement obtained in this negotiation.
