Q: What’s special about the way you work with clients? What unique strength set you apart and adds to the Kony DBX brand?
A: I like to give our prospects and customers the utmost attention, and I make sure to always get back to them by the time I say I will. It’s very important to me that our customers continue to experience the same level of attention and customer service that they see throughout the buying process. Whether e-mail, text or phone call, I make it a point to address their needs immediately and they really appreciate it. I believe the combination of two strengths sets me apart. First, I have a passion for helping others, and I strongly believe the outcome of our efforts reflects ourselves, so I have very high expectations for what I deliver. As a leader, I extend this belief to the team environment where I am accountable for ensuring each team member has what they need to be successful. My second strength is that I am always learning. I genuinely enjoy it, and in an ever-changing technology landscape, it’s important to continue evolving. For example, I recently received a master’s degree in computer science where we discussed what shapes our world today and for the foreseeable future like cloud, mobile security and big data analytics. What I learned there, combined with my years of experience in the technology and financial services industry, has exposed me to many of the business challenges that companies face today and armed me with the business and technology understanding to propose the best solutions.

Q: Talk about a highlight in your career or a project that was particularly successful. How do you bring that to bear on Kony DBX customers?
A: I have been blessed with many opportunities throughout my career. Progressing through the ranks to become a Lead Software Developer at USAA was a great accomplishment, and I had the privilege of working with very talented people in a very competitive environment where most employees were looking to make their mark. I had my share of opportunities which resulted in a couple of patents, thousands of hours saved each month through automation and improved system availability focusing on minimizing return-to-service time. As the Vice President of Digital Architects in the Americas at Kony DBX, I am responsible for addressing solutions and technical aspects of a customer’s buying journey. Being a part of the amazing group of people that make up the Kony DBX team and contributing to the huge growth we are having as a company as well as the successful outcomes we are delivering for our customers, has been the highlight of my career. I feel blessed and thankful to the leaders at Kony who have trusted me and given me the opportunity to grow into the role I am in today. I believe our customers can see my passion for what I do and most importantly for their success.
Q: Describe how work gets done at Kony—and why it matters to customers.
A: Every single employee at Kony knows what they are responsible for and how they contribute to our mission and the success of our customers. We work in a very open and collaborative environment where employees are encouraged to speak up if something does not seem to be working or if they see an opportunity for improvement. This is important for customers because it helps us improve our products and processes before they experience them, limiting their exposure to the pains these changes can cause. We are not perfect, as with any fast-growing technology company there is room for improvement – and we are always improving – which is why we encourage customer feedback and foster an open and collaborative work environment. It’s important to us that the feedback received is not something we ought to have identified and taken care of before our customers point it out, so we aim toward a proactive improvement approach.
Q: Why does the market today need Kony DBX?
A: At Kony we are a different kind of company. We were born as a digital company and truly believe we are the builders of the digital future helping banks and credit unions focus on what matters the most, their customers and members. Every institution owes their existence to a purpose – a commitment to their communities and to their employees. We live during an age in which the very existence of these institutions is jeopardized by the pace of change and ever-increasing customer expectations. Providing our customers with solutions to not just survive but to thrive in this environment, is the reason we exist and is the reason why they need Kony DBX.
Q: With your level of expertise, you could work almost anywhere. What draws you to Kony DBX—and not anywhere else?
A: I came for the technology and I stayed for the people. I really appreciate my team and everything they do as well as the people we interact with daily in other functional areas of the organization. Kony has an amazing culture, customers and products. Additionally, I am very impressed with our ability to adapt as a company and our products to market changes and become the leaders bringing about the changes in different categories, creating the future. We are a very innovative company.
